When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He was in unprecedented territory. The risk of loss was eternal, and He had no assurance that His sacrifice would be complete and acceptable until after it was made.

Silently in obedience He lay still and dead in the tomb until the decision was ratified. Then with power unborrowed He rose Himself from the dead at His Father's call, opening the portals of the tomb forever for all that will pass under its cold grasp accepting of His free gift of salvation.

Through death into life everlasting He passed and we follow Him there. Over us sin no more has dominion, for more than conquerors we are in Jesus!
